Attorney and Partner, Kitchens Law Firm, P.A.

Dan Kitchens is an attorney and partner at Kitchens Law Firm, P.A., where he practices alongside his father, Jim Kitchens, and brothers, Matt and John. His younger sister, Rebecca, is also part of the family run firm.

Dan’s work ethic was shaped early. Before he was old enough to drive, he mowed lawns with a push mower he walked from house to house. At 15, he bought his first chainsaw and began selling firewood, delivering it in his father’s 1963 Chevy truck. Over the next few years he worked in a factory, loaded freight in a warehouse, bagged groceries, clerked at his father’s law office, and worked on a cattle farm while in college.

Before law school, Dan worked as an investigator, including a court appointed role assisting in a capital murder trial. He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Mississippi College, where he balanced academics with student life—winning the campus eight ball pool tournament and earning the AmJur Award in Trial Practice. During law school, he also clerked at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Mississippi.

Since graduating in 2003, Dan has handled hundreds of cases across a wide range of practice areas, including personal injury and criminal defense. His trial work has resulted in not guilty verdicts in cases ranging from DUI to murder. He is a lifetime member and past president of the Mississippi Association for Justice and is active in several professional legal organizations.

Dan is also deeply committed to community service. A childhood cancer survivor, he has served for years as a counselor at Camp Rainbow, a summer camp for pediatric cancer patients he once attended as a camper. He currently chairs the board of Camp Kamassa, a nonprofit camp for children and adults with special needs.

Dan is a highly effective attorney with well-honed powers of persuasion—proof of which can be found in his marriage to the former Mollie McCormick. Mollie is a rock star for her long and dedicated service as a pediatric nurse at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Together, Dan and Mollie are raising three school aged children and are active in their local Methodist church.
